We shape the ridge to the denture or hybrid you intend to deliver — not a generic 'smooth it out.' Send the planned prosthetic outline when you have it.
For the patient
Before dentures or a full-arch bridge, the jaw sometimes needs smoothing or extra tissue removed so the prosthesis sits comfortably.
